La Maison d’Harmonie Orphanage

Nashville Gives Hope has independently funded La Maison d’Harmonie (the Harmony House) since 2012. The Harmony House is an orphanage that consists of 19 children, ages ranging from 2-to 18 years old. All of our children are within our care due to tragic circumstances; one, in particular, is the 2010 earthquake that killed more than 100,000 Haitians. To this day, many citizens are still unaccounted for. UNICEF estimates that more than 20,000 children lost their parent(s) or guardian that tragic day.

From the moment these children are in our care to the time they must leave our orphanage (the government of Haiti regulates the legal age for children to be in an orphanage), we have a plan in place for each and every one of these children. Whether they decide to go to a university or trade school, we make sure we are of assistance every step of the way. Continued education is highly encouraged for better opportunities for their future.
